Caroline Bendix is an accredited freelance library conservator with 40 years’ experience that includes work in many National Trust libraries. Packington Open Gardens Day

Be sure not to miss this splendid and ever popular event to which you will be welcomed by our church bells at the beginning of the afternoon. Ten gardens will be open, together with a History Group display in Holy Rood Church and a display by local Country Colours Art Group in the Memorial Hall. In one of the gardens our very talented village Community Choir will have a “slot” during the afternoon to entertain you. Doug has been gardening since he was a child. he trained as a horticulturist, working in the industry before spending 20 years in horticultural education. He is now an author, a senior examiner and professional associate with the RHS and a horticulture business consultant. He co-presents a garden phone in show on BBC radio Humberside and is a popular speaker. Doug is a self confessed plant nerd. Doug will be reminiscing on gardening methods of bygone years. Bring the family down to pick your pumpkin from our patch and take advantage of the fun photo points, before taking a wonder through our spooky trail. Suitable for children of all ages with mini wheelbarrows and pumpkins of all sizes. This event is partially outdoors, so sensible footwear is advised along with gloves for handling the pumpkins.
